US Interface Design Invitational Competition
Interface Design: Microsoft Silverlight Challenge
Move away from traditional user interface approaches. Rethink the way we behave when in front of a computer screen. The Silverlight Challenge engages student designers, programmers, artists, and technologists in the creation of functional, compelling, and forward-thinking user interfaces. Competitors have the unique opportunity to envision a next generation application, connect it to the Imagine Cup’s environmental theme, and use their skills and the Silverlight platform to bring it to life. From concept and storyboard to design and development, participants will create an application that wows the audience while conveying a strong purpose and meaning.
Please note that this is in addition to the Worldwide Interface Design competition. Being selected as a finalist or winner in this Contest does not provide advancement to nor placement in the 2008 Imagine Cup Worldwide Interface Design Invitational in Paris, France.
Prize Amounts for US Finals
- One (1) Grand Prize: US$10,000 to be distributed equally among each member of the Team and an opportunity for each member of the Team to travel to Boston, MA, as a guest of Microsoft, to showcase the winning entry at HOW Design Conference, May 18 – 21, 2008. Trip includes roundtrip airfare and lodging.
- One (1) First Runner Up Prize: US$5,000 cash to be distributed equally among each member of the Team and an opportunity for each member of the Team to travel to Boston, MA, as a guest of Microsoft, to showcase the winning entry at HOW Design Conference, May 18 – 21, 2008. Trip includes roundtrip airfare and lodging.
- One (1) Second Runner Up Prize: US$2,500 to be distributed equally among each member of the Team, and an opportunity for each member of the Team to travel to Boston, MA, as a guest of Microsoft, to showcase the winning entry at HOW Design Conference, May 18 – 21, 2008. Trip includes roundtrip airfare and lodging.
