• Are there different memberships? MSDN Academic Alliance currently comes in two varieties: Developer and Designer. These products can be deployed as a local server offering or as a hosted service.
• Who can use the software in MSDN Academic Alliance? Students, faculty and staff in STEM or VIDA departments are eligible to utilize software in MSDN Academic Alliance to support, conduct, or take the STEM courses, labs, or programs as well as for research. Developer Academic Alliance Memeberships

Developer Academic Alliance (Developer AA), is designed to provide the easiest and most inexpensive way for universities to make the latest Microsoft software available in labs, classrooms, and on student PCs.

Developer AA is an annual membership program for departments that use technology in support of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) courses. Membership provides a complete, inexpensive solution to keep academic labs, faculty, and students on the leading edge of technology.

Developer AA membership enables STEM departments to outfit their machines with the latest Microsoft development tools, operating systems, server software, documentation, and technical references. In addition, students in the department will have complete access to these tools and references for use on their personal computers.

Designer Academic Alliance Memberships

Designer Academic Alliance was designed to provide the easiest and most inexpensive way for universities to make the latest Microsoft design tools available to Art and Design Students on lab, desktop, and personal machines.

Designer Academic Alliance is an annual membership program for departments that use technology in support of Visualization, Illustration, Design, and Art (VIDA) courses. The membership provides a complete, inexpensive solution to keep academic labs, faculty, and students on the leading edge of technology.

A Designer AA Membership enables VIDA departments to outfit their machines with the latest Microsoft design tools, operating systems, server software, documentation, and technical references. In addition, students in the department will have complete access to these tools and references for use on their personal computers.
